God's Plan of Salvation
|
| God wants you to know that you can have eternal life: |
| |
1 John 5:13:
"These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal
life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." |
| |
|
| We must first realize, though, that no person is holy in God's sight: |
| |
Romans 3:10:
"As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one."
Romans 3:23: "For
all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." |
| |
|
| We are sinful and unholy in God's
sight because of the disobedience of the first man, Adam, whose sin was
then passed down throught the generations: |
| |
Romans 5:12:
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into
the World, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned." |
| |
|
| We must realize that there is
a penalty that must be paid for our sinfulness: |
| |
Romans 6:23a:
"For the wages of sin is death..." |
| |
|
| Who will be a partaker in this
death: |
| |
Revelation 21:8:
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire
and brimstone, which is the second death." |
| |
|
| It is God's desire, though, because
of His great love for us, that no one be a partaker in this death, so God
sent His Son to die on the cross in our place, so that we could have a home
in Heaven with Him: |
| |
Romans 5:8:
"But God commendeth His love toward us in
that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 6:23b: "...But
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." |
| |
|
| All gifts are free to the receiver,
but the gift does not belong to the receiver until he actually takes the
gift from the person who is offering it. We can take this gift of eternal
life through prayer, believing what God did for us, a sinner, by dying on
the cross in our place, to pay for our sins: |
| |
Romans 10:9-10:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:13: "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." |
