The philosophy surrounding the Teen Ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church
is impacted by the ultimate goal of bringing honor and glory to the Lord.
Everything we strive to do within the scope of the Teen Ministry is focused
on achieving this goal
The ministry to the teens of Lighthouse Baptist Church is ultimately a
ministry to parents. From the Youth Pastor, to each Teen Leader, our goal
is to come along side of parents as a help to them in their responsibility
of bringing up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord
(Ephesians 6:4). God places the responsibility of rearing children to love
and serve Him directly upon the parents’ shoulders (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We
acknowledge that the responsibility to evangelize and disciple each teen is
given to his parents. The goal of this Teen Ministry is to provide parents
with an additional resource to impact their children for Jesus Christ.
In the practical outworking of our desire to be a help to parents, a vitally
important aspect of the Teen Ministry of LBC is the quarterly Parents of Teens’
Fellowships. These fellowships provide our parents with an opportunity to be
encouraged in their endeavor to raise up their children to love and serve God.
In addition to these fellowships, the teens of LBC have the opportunity to meet
twice weekly in a Sunday School, and Wednesday Night Teen Group. The teaching
and preaching our teens receive is Bible based with consistent verse by verse
study of the Scriptures with practical life application that arises from the text.
In order to provide ministry opportunities, LBC teens are given the ability to
take part in ministries to the lost through Missions Trips, local outreaches,
and literature distribution efforts. Teens are also afforded opportunities for
fellowship in monthly activities.
We are excited to see the Lord’s powerful working in the lives of our teens. We
are so grateful to have a part in coming along side of parents as they train up
their children to walk in a path that will bring glory to the Lord.
